Glasgow Service with Style is an Official Legacy Project for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.  We're also working towards preparing the city for the Olympic Games events taking place in Glasgow in 2012.

Our flagship customer service programme Glasgow Welcomes has been developed in partnership with local tourism businesses to ensure that we enhance the experience of all visitors to Glasgow, and create a city acclaimed for its high level of service excellence.

Customers and competitors in the 21st century are ever more sophisticated and discerning - and so our city's businesses, owners and staff need to learn how to take advantage of the opportunities, as well as the challenges, in an exciting era of tourism and hospitality.

The Glasgow Welcomes programme focuses on delivering experiences rather than just products, so participants can expect to take part in exercises, discussions and workshops.

So far, more than 10,000 tourism and hospitality staff from a variety of businesses and organisations across the city are committed to Glasgow Welcomes and the benefits the programme will bring to their business and to their career.  Companies large and small have signed up including the Willow Tearooms, Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, the Radisson blu Hotel, and  the Glasgow Film Theatre.

Ultimately the programme will enable all managers and staff in the tourism, leisure, retail and hospitality industry to think about customer service in a new and innovative way. In turn, these key actions and values will then be taken back to the workplace for the benefit of businesses.

Glasgow Welcomes is the city's official programme endorsed by the Glasgow Tourism Strategy Group (Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise, & VisitScotland).  This course is licensed as part of the Scottish Enterprise National Tourism Customer Service Programme ("Leading Service Excellence" & "Delivering Service Excellence").
