Businesses to benefit from new employer toolkit

24 Jul 2011

A great new tool has been launched for businesses that are keen to improve their workforce. The SCQF Employer Toolkit aims to assist employers in a range of ways, including effective recruitment, skills utilisation and workforce development.

This useful toolkit is the brainchild of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership (SCQFP), and has been created in conjunction with Skills Development Scotland.

The toolkit offers a step-by-step guide for employers on how to make full use of the SCQF.  It will allow employers to increase the effectiveness of recruitment by enabling them to write more appropriate job descriptions and person specifications underpinned where possible by National Occupational Standards, so that they can recruit the right team for their business – and with the right skills for the job.

The toolkit will also help to improve workforce development by carrying out more focused skills audits, which will identify employee skills gaps, recognise what further skills their employees need and help them to plan the most appropriate training programme to achieve this.
