Careers influencers invited to hospitality event

01 Feb 2011

Glasgow’s vibrant hospitality and tourism industry has a great deal to offer young people. But many youngsters do not know about the exciting opportunities and career prospects. Now a Glasgow Service with Style event hopes to change this.

An Audience With The Hospitality Industry event on Tuesday February 8 is aimed at professional career influencers, such as those who work as careers advisers, Jobcentre Plus staff and guidance teachers. If you are in a position to advise young people on their career decisions and prospects then this free event is for you.

The event, from 4.30pm-6.30pm, takes place at Glasgow’s Mediterranean-themed venue, Arta. Participants will have the chance to listen to a variety of industry ambassadors who will share the benefits of their diverse career paths.

The talks will be followed by an opportunity to find out more about the tourism and hospitality industry with interactive stands offering live chef demonstrations, sugar craft work, cocktail making and much more.

Representatives from top Glasgow hospitality businesses and ambassadors will also be on hand to answer questions and to give out further information.

Refreshments and networking will round off the evening.

Supported by Springboard Scotland and Skills Development Scotland, which is also the sponsor, this event has limited places which must be reserved in advance. We recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.
