Hopes of raising £20k for charity

Who Gives a Fork? Now we have your attention… we imagine you might want to know more! Glasgow Restaurant Association are behind the charity campaign called Who Gives a Fork.

So far the charity campaign has raised an impressive £60,000 for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, Glasgow, which provides a comprehensive support programme for people and families affected by cancer.

Now GRA is calling for as many people as possible to join them for a special auction event on Thursday March 15 at The Art Club, 185 Bath Street, Glasgow. Billed as the Final Fork Out, it’s hoped that the event will boost funds by a further £20,000.

Renowned food critic Tam Cowan will host the auction, which in keeping with both its name and culinary theme, will see guests bid for forks, donated by a number of famous names, from film stars Gary Oldman and Clive Owen to musician James Taylor and top chef Jean Kristoff-Novelli.

There will be also be variety of entertainment on the night, including live music, as well as complimentary drinks and a selection of finger foods. All funds raised from the auction and raffle, plus a proportion of the ticket money, will be donated to Maggie’s.

The Celebrity Fork Auction starts at 7pm, priced at £15 per person or £25 per couple. It can be booked through 5pm.co.uk
