Free workshop for senior housekeepers

11 Mar 2011

A clean and well-kept hotel is much more likely to be a popular hotel. Guests can be very particular about their rooms and the hotel environment – and rightly so. Which is why the job of housekeeper is such a vital and important role in any hospitality establishment.

But the job of a senior housekeeper is not always an easy one. High staff turnover, teams of diverse nationalities and cultures, motivation and consistency in quality standards are all issues that housekeeping managers are required to address.

In recognition of this challenging hospitality role, Glasgow Service with Style is offering a free workshop for all housekeeping managers and senior staff. The two-hour session is entitled “Don’t Lock me in the Linen Cupboard - for housekeepers” and takes place on March 24 from 3pm to 5pm.

The short but informative session will provide senior housekeeping staff with practical, yet powerful, techniques to understand how to maximise potential within such a unique working environment.

This GSWS workshop is offered in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and Springboard Scotland. Taking place at the Argyll Hotel, Glasgow, this session will be delivered by learnpurple, retention specialists for the hospitality industry.

Topics include:

  • The SDI Relationship awareness tool
  • Motivation of lone workers
  • Managing and retaining a diverse workforce
  • Polished "on floor" customer service.
