Glasgow restaurant wins top accolade

05 Dec 2011

The accolade was given to Ingr3dients, the world’s first 3D interactive art and dining experience held in the ’Chip. Ingr3dients was an event that was held as part of the restaurant’s 40-year celebrations and was a joint project between the Ubiquitous Chip and UZ Events, with support from Black Bottle whisky.
Combining the talents of Scottish artist, and long-time friend of the Chip, Alasdair Gray, as well as digital artist Debs Norton, Ingr3dients saw diners interact with art installations and witness the unveiling of Alasdair Gray’s first digital mural.
The art installations included a pool of digital fish that responds to movement, a 3D Highland Cow and Salmon and an audioscape that matched the food on diners’ plates to bring together touch, sound, sight smell and taste over an entire meal.
Ingr3dients had previously been recognised at the Scottish Event Awards as the country’s outstanding experiential event.
Chop owner Colin Clydesdale said: “We have a long and rich association with the arts and Ingr3dients really brought this up to date by using cutting edge technology to create a unique dining experience. We like to test the boundaries and be experimental and it’s great to receive UK-wide recognition of this.”
