Glasgow Welcomes statistics bring cheer

The number of participants in the Glasgow Welcomes training initiative recently topped more than 2,600. In total, since the launch of the project in July 2009, 2,603 people have attended one of the courses or events. Some 850 managers have participated, while the number of businesses now engaged in the Glasgow Welcomes initiative is 381.
Glasgow Welcomes has rolled out 128 courses and events, of which 67 were Delivering Service Excellence courses, eight were leading Service Excellence courses and 17 were trainer events and courses.
Stella Callaghan, GTSI Project Manager, said at a recent Glasgow Welcomes Trainer Development Workshop: “It is fantastic to see how many people and businesses have participated in Glasgow Welcomes initiative so far.
“The feedback has also been overwhelming and very positive. It’s absolutely fantastic to get such great feedback and to see how businesses are benefitting from the initiative. 
“It’s very rewarding and we hope that in 2012 the participation and results will continue to grow and strengthen our aim of creating a Glasgow that more people want to visit and return to because of a great tourism and hospitality experience.”

"GSWS is an Official Legacy Project for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and it's vital that we reach out to as many businesses as possible across Glasgow's visitor experience in order to maximise the benefits of the Games to the city.”
