Launch of Glasgow Service with Style

19 May 2010

The official launch of Glasgow Service with Style, the Glasgow Tourism Service Initiative took place on Wednesday 19 May at St. Andrew's in the Square in Glasgow's Merchant City.

More than 170 guests from a wide range of businesses, including hotels, visitor attractions, restaurants, and conference centres, ensured a fabulous networking opportunity. Key speakers included renowned hotelier Stephen Carter, OBE, the new Leader of Glasgow City Council Gordon Matheson, and the Regional Director for Scottish Enterprise, Liz Farrell.

Businesses had the chance to hear first hand from managers, staff members, and students who have already benefited from a variety of new and innovative networking and development opportunities on offer from this city-wide industry-led Initiative, supported by the Glasgow Tourism Strategy Group.

Graeme Gibson, General Manager of the Radisson blu Hotel commented: "This event was a great opportunity for the city's tourism businesses to get together to focus on our greatest asset - our people, and to learn about the fantastic range of low cost opportunities on offer through the Initiative from which we can all benefit."
