20 Jan 2011

An inventive new tour of Glasgow is opening the eyes of residents and visitors to the fantastic Scottish whisky scene.

Glasgow Whisky Tours explore the best bars in Glasgow and introduce customers to a host of great malt whiskies.

The tours, which leave from the famous Corinthian Club every Thursday at 7pm, are the brainchild of Victor Brierley.

He said: “Glasgow has some fantastic bars and Scotland has a wealth of wonderful malt whiskies. We are combining both in a brilliant tour of the city.

“People who join us on our tours will have the chance to explore, find out about and taste a wide range of whiskies, and that includes some of the best big names in malt whisky to malts from the smaller, independent and artisan whisky distillers.

“We think there is so much to learn about whisky and we want to give people are great evening focusing on Scotland’s famous drink while also going on a journey of some great bars and clubs.”

The Glasgow Whisky Tours are led by whisky expert Donald MacLellan and whisky fan Victor. The tours are aimed at educating as well as entertaining those who join them.

Victor added: “Donald and I share a passion for Glasgow, Scotland and whisky, and we have a real desire to share our love of the city and unlock its whisky secrets.

“Our tour is guaranteed to be fun, educational, historical and value-for-money.”
