As we have talked about before, it’s the “visitor experience” that is such an important ingredient in the campaign to promote Glasgow as a top destination. Part of the experience for visitors is finding out about the best places to go to in the city, and if your staff know all about our top visitor attractions then they can pass on their knowledge.

We believe this is why the Glasgow Service with Style familiarisation tours have become so popular. We offer a number of tours that are open – and free of charge – for people working in the city’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Already the xxx and xxxxx have given dozens of staff the chance to find out more about Glasgow’s history, culture and attractions. And now a new familiarisation tour is being launched to reveal the tourist hotspots on the Clyde Waterfront.

The Clyde Waterfront has been the focus of a major revamp, from the shipbuilding capital of the world to a place to enjoy leisure and entertainment. The Clyde Waterfront Familiarisation Tour showcases two of Glasgow’s largest attractions, the new Riverside Museum and the Glasgow Science Centre. The tour will also tell the history of the mighty Clyde and introduce the world of film and TV, which is developing by the river.

The first Clyde Waterfront Familiarisation Tour takes place on September 21 – and it’s likely to be very popular so early booking is recommended/.

Stella Callaghan, of GSWS, says: “This new Clyde waterfront tour is a great addition to the Glasgow Service with Style events calendar, and it's free of charge to staff from Glasgow's tourism and hospitality businesses.

“The tour complements the others on offer in our autumn programme of GSWS events – and they are all proving to be successful, with great feedback from staff from hotels, attractions and restaurants.

“Many staff say how useful it is to be able to pas on their knowledge and experience of Glasgow and its many attractions to visitors and customers. We want our visitors to find out how much Glasgow has to offer and these tours are a great way for staff t learn more.”
