Students look forward to new £200m college 
Current and future hospitality and tourism students can look forward to attending a new college after plans were given the go-ahead for a £200million campus for the City of Glasgow College 
The pioneering project at Scotland’s largest college was approved by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) 14 months after the merger of Glasgow’s Nautical, Central and Metropolitan colleges.  
The announcement paves the way for state-of-the-art buildings on existing college land in the city centre on Cathedral Street and on the banks of the River Clyde. 
Work will start on the new campus in the summer of 2013 and it is expected to cater for around 40,000 students and 1200members of staff.  
The City of Glasgow College offers a wide range of courses in food, hospitality and tourism, as well as business.
