Tickets on sale for prestigious young chefs’ awards

21 Jan 2011

A special awards ceremony and dinner is set to celebrate the best of Scotland’s young cooking talent. On February 22 at the Thistle Hotel Glasgow, guests will be treated to a sumptuous dinner before judge Joe Queen announces the regional winner of the prestigious FutureChef cookery competition.

For the last six months, and across Scotland, a host of young chefs aged 12 to 16 have been competing to become the young FutureChef of the year.

At the Thistle Hotel, the Central and South Scotland’s FutureChef Champion 2011 will be announced. This regional winner will then compete against the best young chefs in the UK for the title of FutureChef of the Year 2011 at the National Final at Westminster Kingsway College, London.

Guests at the Hilton Glasgow will also be helping to raise funds to promote FutureChef as the premier showcase for the cream of new Scottish cooking talent.

Tables of 10 can be purchased for £500. If you choose to purchase a table, you will be further supporting FutureChef by sponsoring a competitor and their guest. Tickets can also be purchased individually at a price of £50 per head. All proceeds and donations will support Springboard's activities in promoting careers in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector.

Tickets for the event can be purchased from Amanda McDade, of Springboard Scotland, on tel: 0141 552 5554 or by emailing amandam@springboarduk.org.uk
