Tune into new Tourism TV channel

02 Sep 2011

A new TV channel, TIS TV, is set to be launched in October, promising a wealth of top tips and advice to tourism businesses and operators. The web-based project is the brainchild of Tourism Intelligence Scotland and aims to bring “key intelligence topics to life through regular ‘bite-size’ interactive broadcasts, feeding inspirational business ideas straight to your pc or laptop”.

The series kicks off at 11am on October 13 with a session facilitated by a presenter on “Customer feedback – why bother?” Thanks to a lively mix of pre-recorded and live footage, tourism business leaders will be able to listen to interviews and discussion with companies about how they have used customer feedback to develop their visitor offer.

The first programme includes Kathleen Brogan from Mercat Tours and Jenny Rutherford from The Hub, amongst others. They will talk about what they have done differently as a result of effectively collecting feedback from their customers.

During the programme viewers will have the chance to put questions live to the panel.

Stella Callaghan of the Glasgow Tourism Service Initiative, said: "We're always delighted to hear about new projects in tourism and hospitality that help to improve service and standards across our industry. TIS TV sounds like an innovative concept and one that should offer some great tips and feedback from successful business people."
