City Centre Ambassadors
Take the Mackintosh Trail

More than 40 City Centre Ambassadors took part in a Mackintosh Walking Tour this Spring, thanks to the Glasgow Tourism Service Initiative and the Style Mile Group.

The Ambassadors play a crucial role in the city centre, providing tourist information and advice to visitors and locals alike. To assist the team of Ambassadors with enquiries about what there is to see and do in the city, the Glasgow Tourism Service Initiative organised a series of walking tours on a Mackintosh theme, with info packs, quizzes, and talks. A key success was the visits to three top attractions designed by the world famous architect, artist and designer, including the Willow Tearooms, Glasgow School of Art and the Lighthouse. Feedback from the participants was very positive, with many recommendations for the usefulness of the knowledge gained. Bill Love, Operations Manager for the Ambassadors, commented, "I thought I was Mr. Glasgow until I took part in this tour!"
