The innovative new customer service programme, Glasgow Welcomes, is aimed specifically at employers and employees in the city's tourism and hospitality businesses. Its goal is to provide staff and managers with the tools to enhance the customer service experience for all visitors to Glasgow - for individual business benefit and to create a city that is acclaimed for its high level of service excellence.

Customers and competitors in the 21st century are ever more sophisticated and discerning - and so our city's businesses, owners and staff need to learn how to take advantage of the opportunities, as well as the challenges, in an exciting era of tourism and hospitality.

Developed by the Glasgow Tourism Service Initiative in partnership with our local businesses, the Glasgow Welcomes programme focuses on delivering experiences rather than just products, so participants can expect to take part in exercises, discussions and workshops. Ultimately the programme will enable all managers and staff in the tourism, leisure, retail and hospitality industry to think about customer service in a new and innovative way. In turn, these key actions and values will then be taken back to the workplace for the benefit of businesses.
